Nosh & Novel - With Author Juliet Grames.

Join Juliet Grames, bestselling author of The Seven or Eight Deaths of Stella Fortuna, for a delicious discussion of her new novel, The Lost Boy of Santa Chionia, set in the Calabrian mountains of Southern Italy in 1960. The story, which is about the mysterious fates of missing immigrant men who sail for America seeking opportunity and are never heard from again, follows a young Italian-American woman on a quest for answers as she lives in a remote pastoral village like the one her own grandparents immigrated from. The novel explores food traditions in the Italian and Italian-American communities: both the ancient, seasonal "cucina povera" cuisine of the peasant villages immigrants came from and the modern culinary masterpieces Italians have become famous for.
