ABOUT

Wheeler Library is an association library that serves as the public library for the town of North Stonington.  The building has a rich history. Created and funded initially by the Wheeler family, the Wheeler School and Library served as North Stonington’s secondary school and public library for over forty years.  Borrowing privileges are extended to all residents of North Stonington as well as to library cardholders from other Connecticut towns.

OUR MISSION: Wheeler Library's mission is to bring people, information and ideas together.

OUR VISION: As the heart of North Stonington, Wheeler Library strives to offer resources, programs and opportunities for engagement and enrichment that build our community.

The Library is managed by a Board of Trustees.  Current board members include:  Kate Parenteau, President;  Marietta Anderson, Vice President; Randy Wyrofsky, Treasurer; Jon Edwards, Secretary; Ben Buehler, Ellen Flannery-Schroeder and Ellen Spring.  Gary Annino and Barbara Deindorfer Young serve as Trustees Emeritus.

Library staff members include Amy Kennedy, Director; Emily Noyes, Assistant Director and Children’s Librarian; Kim Signor, Programming Coordinator; Betsy Iiams, Annie Oosterwyk, and Carol Wainwright, Library Assistants.
